After a tweet storm calling Vikings coach Mike Zimmer a liar, Richie Incognito backtracked and apologized

Richie Incognito's accusations against Vikings coach Mike Zimmer, who said he had no interest in signing the free-agent guard, were deleted and the guard later apologized in a tweet.

Incognito had told TMZ that the Vikings had reached out to him with interest in possibly signing the former Pro Bowl offensive lineman. Zimmer denied any such interest on Tuesday.

“No interest and totally false,” Zimmer said. “Tweet that.”

Zimmer's response caused Incognito to fire back on Twitter, calling the coach an "(expletive) liar." Incognito posted several text messages he said were between him and former coach Tony Sparano, who died on July 22. Sparano was Minnesota's offensive line coach when he passed and had coached Incognito in Miami.

But Incognito later deleted the string of tweets regarding the text messages and his accusation against Zimmer.

Incognito apologized, via Twitter.
