Preseason standout gets to continue his NFL career after clearing waivers and signing back with Vikings

After getting to their initial 53-man roster, the Minnesota Vikings went about putting together their practice squad for the 2018 season on Sunday.

Minnesota signed nine players to the 10-man practice squad, all of whom were in training camp with the Vikings.

Preseason standout receiver Chad Beebe cleared waivers -- as all players must do to be signed to the practice squad -- and was re-signed after posting nine catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns in the preseason. Receiver Jeff Badet will also stay on to practice with Minnesota after five catches for 34 yards in the preseason.

Center Cornelius Edison joins the practice squad for the second season after he started three of the team's preseason games while Pat Elflein recovered from offseason ankle and shoulder surgeries.

Only one 2018 draft pick from the Vikings didn't make the 53-man active roster, but sixth-round guard Colby Gossett was signed to the practice squad.
