Titans place Tye Smith on injured reserve, add 2 DL

Reserve cornerback Tye Smith goes on injured reserve, sign two defensive linemen

The Tennessee Titans made two roster moves on Tuesday's off day, including one that was of some surprise. Cornerback Tye Smith, who was a valuable reserve and special teams player last season, was placed on injured reserve by the Titans. Smith was in the running again for a backup spot in the secondary this year.

He had not missed any practice time thus far this season, so Tuesday's decision was a bit of a surprise in that Smith's season could be over, unless the Titans decide to bring him back from injured reserve late in the year. The Titans also waived/injured defensive lineman Claude Pelon, who suffered a knee injury earlier this week in training camp. To replace them on the roster, the signed a pair of defensive linemen, Johnny Maxey and Du'Vonta Lampkin.
