According to Peter Schrager of Fox Sports.com, San Francisco 49ers Vice President of Player Personnel Martin Mayhew is headed to Houston to interview for the Texans vacant general manager position. Mayhew is the third name interviewing for the general manager vacancy joining former Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer and New England Patriots Director of Player Personnel Nick Cesario.
Mayhew has spent the past three seasons with the 49ers starting in 2017 as a Senior Personnel Executive moving into the VP of Player Personnel role in 2019. In 2016, Mayhew was the Director of Football Operations for the New York Giants in 2016.
From 2008-2015, Mayhew was the General Manager for the Detroit Lions helping usher in the Matthew Stafford era in 2009 with the first overall selection.
