Inside Linebacker Xavier Woodson-Luster Lands Contract with the Houston Texans After Successful Rookie Mini-Camp.

The Houston Texans have signed inside linebacker Xavier Woodson-Luster to a contract after a successful three-day rookie mini-camp stint. The Texans brought in the second-year linebacker along with 13 other players for a tryout along with their 27 signed rookies.

Woodson-Luster was able to do enough in the three day work on the field and meeting rooms to impress the Texans to get a longer look at him heading into OTAs. Woodson-Luster is in his second season out of Arkansas State as a rookie free agent.

He has spent the past two seasons with the Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills, and the Cleveland Browns. Woodson-Luster spent time on the Raiders and Browns 53-man rosters primarily playing special teams. For his career, Woodson-Luster has appeared in 18 career games, with 14 of those appearances coming in 2017 with the Raiders. He 12 total tackles in his short NFL career.

To make room for Woodson-Luster on the 90-man roster, the Texans cut rookie linebacker Chase Middleton from Georgia State.

Hard too make it on an NFL team, they should really allow teams too keep 5 more players on the practice Squad , and increase the Roster by at least 5 players! That would employ at least 320 more Players and help the Economy !
