Ron first began covering the NFL in 1975 and 44 years later he's still going strong. He's been a beat reporter with the Oakland Raiders when they actually really were the Rah-Dahs in the 1970s and 1980s, then moved East and spent the past 37 years covering the New England Patriots, first as a beat reporter and later as NFL National Reporter with the Boston Globe and finally as a general sports columnist the last 12 years with the Boston Herald. He has been a Hall of Fame voter for nearly 20 years and also serves on the nine-person Senior Selection Committee. Ron was named Massachusetts Sportswriter of the Year five times. Last year he collaborated with legendary NFL commissioner Bert Bell's son on the book "Present At the Creation'' which looks back on the NFL's formative years and explans how it became the most powerful sports league in America.
