TOFN Poll: Dump the Pro Bowl

The NFL plays 268 games each fall in the regular and post-seasons. It may be time to get rid of game No. 267 -- the Pro Bowl.

The NFL plays 268 games in the fall.

According to the most recent Talk of Fame Network poll, that’s one game too many. It’s time to get rid of Game No. 267 – the Pro Bowl.

We asked out listeners and readers last week what the NFL should do with the Pro Bowl. Play it before the Super Bowl, play it after the Super Bowl, scrap it entirely or the apathy option – "I don’t care what the NFL does with it," "I never watch that game." "Scrap it" won with 38.1 percent of the vote.

"Apathy" was next at 27.4 percent, followed by "Play it after the Super Bowl" at 25 percent and before the Super Bowl at 9.5 percent. The three Talk of Fame Network hosts – Ron Borges, Rick Gosselin and Clark Judge – were in rare agreement on this poll...scrap it.

“I couldn't care less,” Borges said, “and neither do the players. Forget the game. Make it a skills competition.”

Added Judge: “The game doesn’t mean anything, it can't involve Super Bowl players, others keep backing out and most of America would rather watch the Puppy Bowl. So read the tea leaves and make it a part of NFL history.”

And that’s all that really needs to be said about that game and this poll.
