Support building for Kevin Greene for HOF Class of 2016

Edge pass rushers have been elected in seven of the last eight Hall of Fame classes. That bodes well for Kevin Greene -- the only pass rusher among the finalists for the Class of 2016.

Talk of Fame Network

Only two players in NFL history collected more sacks than Kevin Greene, and both -- Bruce Smith and Reggie White -- are in the Hall of Fame.

Yet Greene is now in his fifth turn as a finalist for the Hall of Fame and stands his best chance of induction in the Class of 2016. He's the only pass rusher on the ballot -- and the selection committee generally loves pass rushers. Edge pass rushers have been enshrined in seven of the last eight Hall-of-Fame classes: Charles Haley (2015), Claude Humphrey (2014), Michael Strahan (2014), Chris Doleman (2012), Richard Dent (2011), Rickey Jackson (2010), Bruce Smith (2009), Derrick Thomas (2009), Fred Dean (2008) and Andre Tippett (20008).

John Turney at the Pro Football Journal presents a powerful case for Kevin Greene in both print and video form:
