--"Always been the underdog ain't nothing new. Extend ..... if you don't want me let's make a trade happen I understand it's a bizz," safety Earl Thomas wrote in an instagram post. Thomas skipped all the team's offseason workouts and said that he would not be attending any team workouts until his contract situation is resolved. Thomas is set to enter the final year of his current deal with the team and wants a new contract. His instagram post indicates his stance is unchanged as training camp approaches.
--Strong safety Kam Chancellor declared it was "time for the next chapter" in a social media posting earlier this month. Chancellor stated that further testing on his injured neck had shown no improvements. Chancellor did not use the word "retirement" in his posting likely because he is still due a significant sum of money on his contract despite the injury. "To walk away from the game by choice is one thing," Chancellor wrote. "To walk away from the game because of the risk of paralysis is another. My final test showed no healing. I always prayed to God and told myself that I would play this game of football until the wheels fell off. Well the wheels didn't fall off, but God has given me a sign that I just can't ignore. I've played through all types of bruises and injuries at a high level. But this one, I just can't ignore."
