(NFLDraftScout.com Senior Analyst Rob Rang joined the Grant Napear Show on KJR AM 950 in Seattle with Doug Christie this week to discuss the surprises, best fits and biggest fumbles of this year's NFL Draft)
After fielding questions about specific teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders, Rob explained why No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield and Josh Rosen are matches in Cleveland and Arizona.
He gives his take on the Giants' decision to select Saquon Barkley at No. 2 overall and identified a pass-catcher drafted outside of the first round that fantasy football enthusiasts should be noting.
The answer that earned the loudest reaction from the hosts came when asked to pick the perfect fit or marriage of this year's draft.
Rang listed the match of San Diego State running back Rashaad Penny with the Seahawks, a selection that immediately drew skepticism because Rang and Christie each have ties to Seattle.
"Back in November, I picked this kid out, Rashaad Penny, as being a perfect fit for what Seattle likes to do," Rang said, citing a conversation he had with host Ian Furness of KJR AM 950.
"They want to run the ball downhill and they weren't able to do that a year ago. Rashaad Penny had eight different runs of 50-plus yards a season ago. Think about that. Eight runs of 50-plus yards... Seattle didn't have one of those...
"It's not that I necessarily think Penny is going to become the greatest player or anything like that, I think he is going to get pushed onto the field early on, he is going to be featured in their attack, and Russell Wilson is a good quarterback and the combination of the two is going to put Seattle into or potentially fighting for a playoff spot and therefore very relevant down the stretch."
