Pats Notebook After 31-17 Win

Josh Gordon Feels Comfortable in New England

Josh Gordon Has Big Night

Josh Gordon might have played his best game as a Patriots player with five catches for 130 yards including a 55-yard touchdown catch for the closing score to give the Pats a 31-17 win. The Pats needed the production given that Rob Gronkowski missed his second game in three weeks. Brady has increased confidence in Gordon and Gordon is happy to be in New England. On the 55-yard catch and run, Gordon loved the play call.

"I think we caught them off-balance, switching defenses and transition. They dropped back into a a zone, somebody just forgot to cover me, was able to idle and Tom saw it, we all saw it and then just had to make a break on the ball and try to finish the play after that," Gordon said.

Julian Edelman and James White were also productive with each player having six catches and the two totaled 143 yards receiving. The two also had a great sequence with a trick play that led to a pass from Julian Edelman to James White (with Tom Brady in the middle of that sequence), which resulted in a 37-yard gain.

"It was just a perfect play call at a perfect time. Tom threw it to Julian, Julian threw it to me. Just a perfect play. The offensive line did a great job of selling it and getting down the field and blocking. I've just got to try and score the next time," White said with a laugh

Cordarrelle Patterson had to play running back because Sony Michel was absent once again Sunday Night. Patterson had 11 carries for 61 yards - averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

Belichick Had High Praise for Veterans and Red Sox

The Pats honored veterans and their families before the game along with the Red Sox who came out on a Duck Boat with Alex Cora, J.D. Martinez, and John Henry in attendance...Perplexing that the Packers did not run Aaron Jones more given that he had 14 carries for 76 yards and averaged 5.4 yards a carry... Tom Brady did not hit the 1000-yard rushing mark. Eventually, he will get there. He joked that he went backwards. The Packers secondary struggled without Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Didn't help that CB Kevin King left the game with an injury. Marcus Cannon was back at right tackle -played well based on initial observation.
