Anderson originally signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free-agent out of Texas Christian University. At TCU, he appeared in 33 games, recording 170 total tackles (106 solo), 9 tackles for a loss, 1 interception, 2 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries. He graduated with a degree in criminal justice.
According to Pro Football Focus, Anderson's career has regressed grade-wise, going from 53.3 overall as a rookie to 28.9 in 2017, his last season in pro football. He has mostly worked as an outside linebacker.
Anderson was out of football last year except for one quick week with the Cardinals, who didn't activate him for a game. If the Giants are looking for him to potentially be a solution to the pass rush and run defense woes, they might be better off looking elsewhere given Anderson's lack of production at both the college and pro levels.
