The Giants have added depth at linebacker.

The New York Giants added former Northwestern Wildcats linebacker Warren Long to their 90-man training camp roster.

Long, 5-11 and 212 pounds, joined the Seattle Seahawks on May 4 as an undrafted rookie. He posted two solo tackles in the Seahawks preseason opener against the Colts but was waived on August. 11.

Long was a running back his first three seasons (2013-15) at Northwestern. He was injured on his first carry in 2016, and missed the rest of the season. The following offseason, he became a linebacker. Playing primarily as a backup and special teamer, Long had 21 tackles (14 solo), three tackles for losses and 1.0 sack.

To make room for Long, the Giants waived safety Mike Basile, whom they signed August 8. Basile played his college ball at Monmouth University.

I can't see him sticking around, not at this late juncture.

Sounds like Long has the right size to play linebacker in high school.
