Giants Decline Jonathan Stewart's Option Year

The Giants are moving on from disappointing running back Jonathan Stewart after one season.

The Giants off-season salary cap cleanup continued this week with the team having declined to exercise the option year of running back Jonathan Stewart's contract, per a source.

New York had until 4 p.m. ET on February 6 to decide whether to carry Stewart, the former Carolina Panthers running back, for another season or move on.

After a disappointing 2018 season and thanks to the solid showing of running back Saquon Barkley as an all-purpose weapon int he team's offense, the Giants are moving on.
