The Giants have signed fullback Elijhaa Penny off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.

The 25-year-old Penny is 6-2, and 234 pounds. He was signed by the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho in 2016.

A JUCO transfer who began his college career at Cerritos College, Penny's two-year stint at Idaho resulted in 23 games played with 14 starts in which he rushed for 1,748 yards and 22 touchdowns on 385 carries.

Penny also recorded 39 receptions for 346 yards and three touchdowns and returned 15 kickoffs for 278 yards.

Penny will replace Jon Halapio, wo was placed on injured reserve after suffering a broken ankle in Sunday's loss.

Meanwhile Shane Smith, who has been on the Giants roster since last year and who struggled in Sunday night's loss to the Cowboys in missing two blocks that resulted in sacks against quarterback Eli Manning, currently remains on the roster.

This current group seems very vindictive & rash in their decisions.I hope this does not become a Handley type experiment.
