The Washington Redskins signed free-agent tight end Garrett Hudson, the team announced Wednesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed for Hudson, who spent three seasons at the University of Richmond.
Hudson, 23, recorded 65 receptions for 1,001 yards and nine touchdowns in 39 career games with the Spiders. He had 23 catches for 262 yards and two scores during his senior season.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Hudson joins fellow tight ends Jordan Reed, Vernon Davis, Jeremy Sprinkle, Manasseh Garner and Matt Flanagan on the Redskins’ 90-man roster.
The Redskins waived wide receiver De’Mornay Pierson-El in a corresponding move on Wednesday.
