Raiders sign DT Rubin

The Oakland Raiders signed veteran defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin, according to a tweet posted by his agents Monday.

The 31-year-old Rubin played in 12 games last season – 10 for the Atlanta Falcons and two for the Denver Broncos – but he did not start any of them.

He was a regular starter the previous seven seasons, including 2015 and 2016 with Seattle.

The 6-foot-2, 321-pound Rubin joins interior linemen Justin Ellis and second-round pick P.J. Hall on the Raiders’ roster.

The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent DT Ahtyba Rubin the club announced Tuesday.

Rubin was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round (190th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. After spending his first seven seasons (2008-14) with the Browns, the 6-foot-2, 315-pounder had stints with the Seattle Seahawks (2015-16) and most recently with the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons in 2017. Over his 10-year career, Rubin has appeared in 144 games and made 107 starts, while recording 428 tackles (264 solo), 15 sacks, two interceptions, seven passes defensed, six forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In five postseason appearances, he has tallied 16 stops (nine), two sacks and one fumble recovery.
