Wide receiver Henri Murphy is transferring from Virginia Tech.
Murphy announced his decision to leave the school on his Twitter account, although he did not indicate where he plans to resume his football career.
“VT, its been everything I’ve expected before signing plus more. … I’ll be transferring from Virginia Tech,” wrote Murphy. “This school and all my my brothers will always be special to me!”
Murphy, who played at the junior college level in Mississippi before transferring to Virginia Tech, appeared in seven games in 2016. He had three catches for 29 yards and averaged 26.8 yards on 12 kickoff returns.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder appeared in six games in 2017, registering 10 catches for 153 yards. He also rushed for eight yards on two carries and returned seven kickoffs.
