The Kansas City Chiefs signed rookie linebacker Dorian O’Daniel to a four-year contract on Tuesday.

O’Daniel, one of the team’s three third-round draft picks, became the fifth of Kansas City’s six draftees to sign.

Last season at Clemson, O’Daniel posted career-best numbers across the board with 88 tackles, including 11.5 for losses, and 5.0 sacks. He also returned two interceptions for touchdowns and had five passes defensed.

O’Daniel appeared in 50 games over four seasons for the Tigers, posting 28 of his 205 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks.

“Dorian O’Daniel is a guy that can be a chess piece for us,” said Chiefs general manager Brett Veach following the draft. “This guy will be on the field and be able to cover tight ends, do a lot of different things in regards to matching in our sub-personnel and then we had him graded as the highest rated special teams player. So a guy like that at pick 100 is extremely valuable to us.”

Defensive lineman Derrick Nnadi is the unsigned member of Kansas City’s rookie class.
