Thomas counters ex-teammate Randall’s NBA Finals vow

Former Cleveland Browns tackle Joe Thomas has taken up for the “home” team.

Thomas countered former teammate Damarious Randall’s vow to purchase a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey for every fan who retweeted him if the local team defeated the Golden State Warriors in the upcoming NBA Finals. Thomas then took to Twitter and promised to buy each follower who retweeted his post a signed, game-worn Stephen Curry jersey if the Warriors prevail.

“I’m so confident in my @cavs, if the @warriors win the 2018 NBA finals, I’ll buy anyone who retweets this a signed @StephenCurry30 gameworn jersey. Even you @RandallTime. @KingJames,” the 33-year-old Thomas posted.

Thomas’ post received approximately 12,000 retweets as of Wednesday morning. The 10-time Pro Bowl selection chimed in nearly 90 minutes later after the number of retweets eclipsed Curry’s games played total.

Randall, who was acquired from the Green Bay Packers in an offseason deal, had nearly 700,000 retweets as of Wednesday morning for the following post:

While jersey prices range, it will get rather pricey for both parties.

Randall, who openly roots for Golden State, has been quite busy on Twitter of late.

“I’m glad the Cavs made it to the finals so I can watch Curry light that (expletive) up Game 3 & 4,” he wrote. “…I’m courtside for game 3 & 4”

When a fan on social media posted that there was no chance Randall would honor his word, he quickly responded by tweeting: “100% chance.”

Randall recorded 144 tackles, 10 interceptions and one fumble recovery in 39 career games since the Packers selected him with the 30th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Thomas, who played 10,363 consecutive snaps during his decorated career, announced his retirement in March.
