Denver Broncos linebacker Deiontrez Mount has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles and is expected to miss the upcoming season, Mike Klis of KUSA reported on Wednesday.

Mount, 25, is expected to have surgery in the next few days.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 253 pounds, Mount began last season on the Broncos' practice squad before being elevated to the active roster in November. He made six tackles in seven games while playing primarily on special teams.

Mount has recorded six tackles and one interception in 11 games with the Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Titans since being selected by Tennessee with a sixth-round pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.
