The Jets' defense was the hot fantasy football pickup ... for obvious reasons

New York's defense is projected to do big things against the reeling Bills offense

In case you haven't watched recently, the Bills offense is ... bad. Very, very bad.

Buffalo scored nine points in last week's loss to the Bears, six two weeks ago in a loss to the Patriots and five three games ago in a loss in Indianapolis. The Bills offense has allowed more points off turnovers the last three games (21) than it's scored (20).

Buffalo's quarterbacks -- Nathan Peterman, Josh Allen and Derek Anderson -- have combined for three touchdown passes and 16 interceptions this season, having been sacked 33 times.

I could go on with these numbers, but suffice it to say, their offense is a great matchup for most defenses.

As such, the Jets were a hot fantasy football pickup this week, getting added in 42 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues as of midday Wednesday. But they were still available in nearly 30 percent of leagues.

The Jets haven't forced a turnover during their three-game losing streak after getting 15 in their first six games. But they do have seven sacks in that time.

It's unclear who will start Sunday for the Bills at MetLife Stadium, because Allen, who's missed the last three games, is limited at practice on Wednesday with an elbow injury, while Anderson is still recovering from a concussion he suffered against the Patriots.

My advice: If the Jets' D/ST is still available in your fantasy league, run, don't walk, to pick them up, regardless of who plays quarterback. Though if it's Peterman under center, that makes the matchup that much more attractive.
