ARLINGTON, Texas — Within the friendly confines of AT&T Stadium, this Dallas Cowboys team — offense, defense and special teams — is pretty darn good.
The Cowboys dominated Jacksonville for the entire first half on their way to a 24-0 halftime lead.
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott had his most impressive half of the season as he completed 13 of 18 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns to Cole Beasley. Prescott also ran for 53 yards and another score.
The Cowboys are 2-0 so far this season when they score a touchdown in the first half and they managed three of them against the Jaguars.
Dallas has out-gained Jacksonville 251-64 so far. Cowboys defensive lineman Maliek Collins had a first-half sack and Antwaun Woods and Tyrone Crawford split another one.
And Cowboys kicker Brett Maher booted a 50-yard field goal.
Among the most impressive things in the first half was the way Prescott handled himself when the pocket started to break down. Last week, the Dallas quarterback’s accuracy when throwing in a less-than-ideal situation came under intense scrutiny. But he’s been awesome at it today.
Right now, the Cowboys seem like a basketball player who can’t miss. The big questions for the second half are: Can they keep it up? And will the Jaguars show any sign of life?
