2013 Chiefs coaching staff

The head coach search is over in Kansas City with the hiring of Andy Reid, but the hiring process continues as Reid fills out his staff.

This list will be updated as reports break from credible media outlets.

UPDATE Jan. 16:Chiefs officially announce the additions of offensive line coach Andy Heck, assistant special teams coach Kevin O’Dea.

Notes:

• Mark Deleone named quality control coach on Jan. 25.

• Linebackers coach Gary Gibbs, defensive backs coach Emmitt Thomas and assistant strength and conditioning coach Brent Salazar retained from the prior regime.

• The Chiefs on Jan. 11 announced the hirings of quality control coaches Corey Matthaei, who joins the Chiefs from the Eagles, and Britt Reid, who enters his first season at the NFL level after spending three seasons at Temple as a graduate assistant on offense. However, it is unclear at this time which side of the ball each h0lds.

• The Chiefs on Jan. 11 also announced the hiring of Mike Frazier as the team’s statistical analysis coordinator. Frazier previously held the same post under coach Andy Reid in Philadelphia.

Snapshot bios of respected hires outside of Doug Pederson and Bob Sutton are found on the Chiefs’ official website. Pederson’s bio and Sutton’s bio are included in seperate team announcements.

• Former Vikings coach Brad Childress met with Reid, but a potential role is unclear, Adam Teicher of The Kansas City Star reports. Childress served on Reid’s staff in Philadelphia as a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator (1999-2005).
